The Chester Parks and Recreation Department strives to be a leader in Chester County by offering high quality recreational, cultural and leisure opportunities that will promote positive development and growth for all Chester citizens and visitors alike.

It is our mission to provide open space facilities that will meet the needs of parks and recreation, preserve our natural resources, and protect the historical integrity of our community for generations to come.

The Parks and Recreation  is located at 157 Columbia Street and the staff can be reached at 803-377-6398.

The Chester Parks & Recreation Department provides recreational and special activities for the City of Chester, including managing wellness and fitness programs.  We are busy throughout the year maintaining 8 parks, a football field, 3 softball fields, 7 tennis courts, a nature trail, a fitness trail, and a competition sized swimming pool. The Parks and Recreation Department also offers various leisure and educational programs.

  • Finley Park– Cemetery Street
  • Frank Connor Park– Spring and Lancaster Streets
  • George B. Guy Park– Cushman Drive in Frazier Park
  • Hughes Bagwell Park– Bird and West Lacey Streets
  • Jackson James Park – Roland and Mill Street
  • Jones Adair Park – Odom Street
  • Wylie Park Complex – West End Street
  • City Pool – West End Street
